Purchased this as a Christmas wish list gift. You have to charge for 20 minutes before you can began to play was the only downside to this toy. Everyone absolutely loved this toy! What a great workout for the arms. A great distraction from the tv and video games!

As an idea, it's pretty awesome. The stadium is solid, not that flimsy paper thin beyblades plastic junk stadium that was popular last year. The robots themselves work well. However, operation isn't for the little one's as when the robots have enough 'points' scored on them, they shut down, which is mass terrorism on younger kids with zero patience and an even lesser attention span. Once you figure out how to cope with that nonsense, then you discover that with a little less than gentle handling, as young kids are apt to do, a critical plastic part that allows each robot arm to 'punch' is apt to pop out, so that's another thing to monitor else some less attentive and likely exasperated parent vacuums up said piece, never to be found again. This is not to say the robots are overly flimsy, as it is easy to pop the piece back in, but you have to keep an eye on the robots before something disappears. Otherwise, yeah, robots are fun!

My son was going nuts due to the advertising, so grandma had us select this albatross. What you get are two robots, two nunchuck-style remote controllers, a stadium and some stand-up targets.

The robots are nigh-uncontrollable. You shake the right controller, it punches right. You shake the left controller, it punches left. MAYBE. If you're lucky. Sometimes the robots are not responsive, other times they flail about like they are having fits. The robots barely move forward; you have to synchronize your punches. For such an expensive remote controlled device, for it to have only two movement options, which are basically by leveraging inertia via punching is appalling. The head keeps score of your damage, that is if you're lucky enough to guide your robot to the other robot's front, if it hasn't turned randomly, and if you can actually punch it. Also, take care if your robot falls over because your kid always pick it up from the head, causing it to "take damage". Don't even look at the head cross-eyed. The robots are just far enough apart that punching the other 'bot's head to score is nigh-impossible. It's worse than the lack of reach with a Rock'em Sock'em; in fact, if you want this sort of action, save your money and buy a Rock'em Sock'em instead!

I will say that the charging is innovative. You put AA batteries in the nunchucks, then you plug the robots onto the nunchucks for 20 minutes. UNFORTUNATELY, for a highly advertised, somewhat involved toy, the instructions are almost non-existent. There is an option for synchronizing 2 robots to one nunchuck and to set a robot to auto-fight, where it punches every couple seconds or so, but this is at best a very expensive novelty and at worst a giant waste of money.

For those of you who are completely clueless, the controllers are not Wiimotes and no you don't control it with your Wii. I don't know if that was a marketing ploy or a marketing gaff, but there is no relation.

I bought this for my 9 year old son who seen it on TV and asked for this for Christmas. It was easy to setup but seriously lacked adequate directions. I had to rely on a YouTube video another customer posted reviewing how the robot settings worked for the different game modes. For the most part it's a fun cool little remote version of rock em sock em robots but the $70 price tag was way too steep. Accept for an hour on Christmas morning I don't think they have been played with since. Cool toy but too pricey.

My son really likes this. When we first got it, one of the controllers did not work. All I had to do was call Amazon and they took care of it. They sent a replacement controller which I received very quickly. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase.

I bought this for my sons birthday. He was very excited to get it but was soon very disappointed. The robots are very flimsy and feel like they are about to break. The arms kept coming loose and it's very easy to register a hit on the robot just by slightly touching it. The robots don't move well and it's difficult to tell if you are winning or losing.

This was a gift for my brother. He was super-excited when it arrived and out of to use immediately. Unfortunately, one of the figures broke after 6 rounds and he hasn't been able to find a replacement. Final assessment: tons of fun but poor construction material means you will be left wanting more.
