Great product at a fair price. I ordered the single unit, and like many other reviewers, was pleased with the quantity and quality of the clay. It is very easy to work with. You can definitely make more than two plaques with the single unit, depending on the diameter and thickness you choose. I was able to make 5 prints; 2 using the cut out provided, 2 using a plastic cup (for a smaller diameter), and one molded by hand with the remaining clay. Realistically, I could have made more had I re-rolled the remaining clay, but I ran out of animal paws! The kit includes easy to follow instructions with pictures, a small rolling pin, a round cut out (~4x4 inches in diameter), a drinking straw (for creating the hanging-hole), and three ribbons (blue, pink and yellow). Each ribbon measures ~16 inches. In order to create 5 prints, I rolled my clay ~1/4 inch thick (each one is a slightly different thickness, I didn't especially try for consistency). The clay does dry fast, after about 15-20 minutes the clay becomes much less malleable; by my last print, it was getting firmer, so more pressure had to be applied to get the same affect. The molded clay took less than 24 hours to dry. After about 20 hours, I used sand paper to clean up the edges.Would definitely recommend and will return to this seller should I need a clay molding product again. Very pleased.*Photo clarification:The two molds of they keys were created using the kit's cut out (I plan on personalizing these with permanent marker). The two molds of the single paws were created using a plastic cup (though I don't recommend using plastic, as it gave the clay sort of an unappealing ripple)The mold with two cat paws was molded with the remainder of the clay by hand.

We've bought this kit for all three of our children, so I thought it was time to leave a review.

It's a pretty basic, do-it-yourself kit. The clay is easy to roll out. And, when you little one inevitably wiggles and squirms, or tries to grab a chunk of the clay, it's easy to re-roll and try again. No stress, the clay doesn't dry out quickly and is forgiving for constant re-rolling until you get that perfect imprint.

The clay does take a good 24 hours plus to dry, longer if you made a thick ornament. So, keep that in mind when you created your impression. The dried imprint feels a bit chalky. But, it looks great with craft paint. Pick up a little gold or silver to give the item a better coating. Paint it on with a foam brush. The clay absorbs the paint and as it dries any stray brush strokes really disappear. The end results looks fabulous (and I'm normally pretty DIY challenged).

The ribbon that comes with the kit is a bit stiff and feels cheap. For a sturdier hanger, I bought a $2 spool of ribbon at Michaels.

These make great Christmas ornaments and gifts. With one kit, I was able to get a foot print and hand print using their large circle frame. I still had left over clay, so I used a kitchen cup to make two smaller hand print ornaments for grandparents.

We've used this kit with all three of our kids. The circle frame that comes with the kit will be large enough for most kids 0-9 months. We adopted our third child at one year old, and the frame was a little too small for a foot print on him (just barely). So, I had to cut my own slightly larger circle.

All in all, this is a great kit and if we have a fourth, I'll be back to buy another.

This product was easy to use and made wonderful, memorable, and sanely priced gifts for family members for our child's first christmas. We bought these for Xmas 2015 and the product has held up perfectly so far. We made 3 casts per box, with the final cast being smaller than the first two (i.e. we'd do 2 official circle casts, and then another that was our own shape and a bit smaller).

Incredibly easy to use, particularly as the product comes with all the necessary tools, including a roller, hole-poker, strings to tie the ornament, and of course clay. We did some casts with the circle mold and some just smushing out the clay to the shape we wanted it. All the casts we made ended up nicely, even the ones we made that were thinner than recommended. After we made the hand/foot casts we poked our guy's name into the product with a ballpoint pen, so the "engraving" also ended up quite nicely.

We had no issues getting hand, foot, and thumb prints from our active 15 month old... he couldn't do it himself but it certainly didn't hurt him to put his hand down and apply a small bit of pressure to each finger to make sure the cast was thorough. There wasn't much residue, and even that washed straight off. Our kid is a thumb-sucker but as the product didn't stick around we had no concerns about it getting in his mouth.

Note, if you leave the clay out too long, it gets dry (of course, this is how the final cast is made!). In places if the clay was too try, rubbing a small crack with water or adding water and kneading it into the clay before using smooths out the final product. You can avoid cracks in the drying process by following the instructions in the package. Incidentally, we made so many of these things that sometimes we left the clay out over night, in a plastic bag or wrapped in the packaging. It was usable the next day as long as we covered it sufficiently.

We shipped these, with a bit of bubble wrap around them and packed in a cardboard box, to various USA locations and overseas. They all arrived intact.

And finally... a few ideas for casts---
    - Parent and kiddo back- or front-of-thumb prints (we did mom, dad, and child).
    - Six-fingered baby (make sure their thumb and pointer have enough space in the initial cast, then move the pointer finger over a bit and push it in).
    - Engrave words or names with a pointy object (e.g. pen) by doing the text with closely-spaced dots.

This kit makes a great Christmas gift or a way to commemorate baby's itsy-bitsy feet and hands for yourself and loved ones. I purchased the keepsake kit for a memento of my son's hands and feet. It contains a sealed package of the molding clay, three ribbons (pink, yellow, and blue), a pointy straw for making a hole, a dinky little roller that's not up to the task of rolling out the clay efficiently, a large round cardboard cutter, and basic instructions on how to create the ornaments.

I strongly advise adding parchment paper to the list, not just to protect your countertops or table, but also for allowing the ornaments to dry. The hardening period takes anywhere from 4 to 7 days, and the parchment paper ensured the back of the clay was not exposed, disturbed, or crumbly. Parchment paper also makes for easy transfer.

Making an ornament is straightforward. Roll out the clay to desired thickness, fight with your squirmy baby's reflexes to spontaneously curl his toes or contract her precious little hand into a fist, press down gently for an impression while your newborn honks blue murder, and then examine the results. With some luck, you may have a reasonable impression and an infuriated spouse co-opted into this special form of infantile torment. Didn't know that babies generally refuse to spread their fingers and adorable little toes when asked? Well, now you do. My husband decided to roll out the clay again for a second impression, and a third, at my insistence because the ravenous claw marks scratched over the white surface rather resembled an attack by a very tiny, very persistent velociraptor. Not exactly what I had in mind for enshrining my 8-week-old's most precious extremities.

Once you do manage to gain an impression - preferably after a bottle of wine, I'll note, but not if you're the nursing mother - then keep it inside the wooden frame for best results. Drying may be a smidge slower, but without risk of cracking or falling apart by some act of circumstance. We used a large round cookie cutter in addition to the cardboard ornament cutter provided; between the two, the metal cookie cutter worked far better for clean edges and punching through the clay. The cardboard was shorter and flimsier.

The results are very attractive though. Note for an average sized 2 month old baby, two plaques is all we managed to eke out without some creative positioning.

3.0 out of 5 stars it's an okay product

It's an okay product. There's no instruction inside. The only instruction is the 4 pictures printed on the package and pictures somehow are in reverse order. Anyway, the use of it is pretty straightforward, but the final result is just so-so. The final handprint is not very clear but acceptable.
